Early Childhood Level 1 – Hybrid Course – Beginning March 16th 2023

Join Lucinda Geoghegan to begin your Early Childhood Level 1, delivered online via Zoom and in-person, in a hybrid model.
In this module you’ll complete your Methodology, Materials Practicum, Musicianship, Choir and Research Assignment subjects and assessment, which constitutes a full level of the Australian Kodály Certificate.
To participate in this course, you will need to attend the below virtual classes at the scheduled time (all times listed are AEST – Brisbane, Queensland time). You’ll also need to attend the Winter School Music Program in July, 2023 in Tenterfield, NSW in person.
You’ll need access to the Set Textbooks for this course, and you will need to complete and submit assessment pieces as well as attending set classes (if choosing an assessed option).

PART A
Part A consists of 30 hours online during terms 1 and 2, and Part B is a one-week, face-to-face delivery as part of the Winter School Music Program, July 03-07, 2023 in Tenterfield, NSW.
The weekly classes will be held on Thursdays from 6pm – 8:30pm (AEST) via ZOOM on the following dates –
March 16
March 23
March 30
April 20
April 27
May 04
May 11
May 18
May 25
June 01.
These sessions will consist of Musicianship (either a beginner/lower class or an intermediate class) from 6:00pm – 7:00pm AEST followed by Pedagogy/Materials/Practicum from 7:00pm – 8:30pm AEST.
As well, the research project will be introduced and Lucinda will negotiate with the class on a suitable time for consultations – presentations will occur during the Winter School Music Program (Part B). This means that you will cover 30 hours of the program during the online sessions (half of the full AKC course).
PART B
At the Winter School Music Program, you will have the following classes (30 hours):
Musicianship – 5hrs
Pedagogy/Practicum – 10hrs
Choir – 10hrs
Research presentations – 5hrs
